IRC Capacity Facts

Orange County research found capacity figures for the Orange County Intake Release Center, but it did not locate a current daily population figure from an official public source. That matters because intake beds and special-use beds do not equal the number of people present on any given day. Booking volume, releases, medical holds, court transportation, classification, and transfer timing can change the visible count. The safest public statement is that IRC is a high-turnover intake, release, and transportation facility within the broader Orange County jail population.

Look Up IRC Inmates

The county jail lookup path for the Orange County Intake Release Center starts with the OCSD Inmate Records page and the OCSD Public Services Portal. During the research inspection, the portal did not show a simple open roster table with a public sample profile. For that reason, a failed online search should not be treated as proof that the person is not in custody. New bookings can lag while identity, medical screening, fingerprints, property, and classification are completed. Search with the full legal name, date of birth if requested, and booking number if one is known.

The IRC sits in the Santa Ana Civic Center jail campus near the Central Men's Jail, Central Women's Jail, court buildings, and county justice offices. It is the local place where a new Orange County arrest often first enters the jail system, but it is not the only place where county inmates are housed.
